Rico Verohoeven stands off with Guto Inocente for Heavyweight Headline event of GLORY 59 Amsterdam. As Rico looks to add to his 16 fight winstreak, which includes Badr Hari, Peter Aerts, as well as Jamal Ben Saddik, Benjamin Adegbuyi, and others.
Inocente has also defeated Adegbuyi, with D’Angelo Marshall and Hesdy Gerges also in the firing line on the Brazilian’s path to a title shot.
Another title clash will go down on September 29th, as Robin van Roosmalen looks to retain the featherweight title in a unification fight with current interim champion Petchpanomrung Kiatmookao.
In the night’s GLORY 59 SuperFight Series and GLORY 59 Amsterdam headliner, heavyweight champion Rico Verhoeven takes on Brazilian challenger Guto Inocente. Verhoeven has defended his belt seven straight times since capturing the title in 2014. His winning streak inside the GLORY ring now stands at 16. Inocente will look to dethrone the world’s top-ranked heavyweight riding the momentum of wins over Benjamin Adegbuyi, D’Angelo Marshall and Hesdy Gerges.
Gold is also on the line in the co-main event, as featherweight titleholder Robin van Roosmalen rematches interim champion Petchpanomrung Kiatmookao. The pair met previously at GLORY 41 — also in van Roosmalen’s home country of Holland — with the Dutchman taking home a controversial, majority-decision victory.
The night’s SuperFight Series is also filled with big names. Former welterweight champion Murthel Groenhart returns to action, squaring off with Mohammed Jaraya. Recent title challenger Alim Nabiyev is also back in the ring, facing off with Aruba’s Eyevan Danenberg.
Van Roosmalen was sidelined prior to GLORY 55 New York, which would open the door for Kiatmookao to win the itnerim title over Kevin Vannostrand. The GLORY 59 Prelims, SuperFight Series and main four-fight GLORY 59 Amsterdam card can be found below:
